Khao Sok National Park is a tropical rainforest located in Southern Thailand midway between Surat Thani and Phuket.
The park is famous for its beautiful lake, limestone cliffs and cascading waterfalls. It has a large variety of flora and fauna including gibbons, langur monkeys and nearly 200 tropical species of birds.
Khao Sok, however, is most famous for what is called the world’s largest flower, the Raffleasia. The Raffleasia blooms occasionally for about 7 days in the dampness of the forest and cannot be grown by man.
With its rich soil Khao Sok is a place where tropical plants and fruit trees flourish. The farmers around the park grow coffee, rubber, oil palm, and exotic fruits such as rambutan, durian, and longong.
This three day two night tour will take you back to memories of the past when the Sok river was an important trade route between India and China with boats and elephants moving goods along the river.
On this three day tour you will experience one of the best ways to explore the jungle traveling down the Sok river in inflatable canoes. You will be accompanied by a local river guide who will paddle the canoe and will help look for animals and interesting sights on your journey.
You will also experience riding on an elephant and trekking by foot past mountains and cliffs covered in deep tropical vegetation along the banks of the river. Birds such as kingfisher, heron, egret, various reptiles and even wild monkeys live in this area.
On the three day tour you will also experience travelling on Cheo Larn Lake located in the middle of Khao Sok National Park.
The scenery is some of the best in Southern Thailand and this is a great to see it all from canoe, elephant and by foot.
